I used to go back home to Miami often excited to see friends and family...a couple of years later...the ONLY reason I ever go back now is because of family. Often at times, I try to secretly go back home so that no one knows I'm back and pretends to want to see me.
I come back to Texas only knowing that it was just for a brief moment, and I am no longer remembered, or cared for.
I'm okay with that to some extent. I don't want to have the need to talk to them every day, but a once-in-a-while 'hello' would be nice.
I also find that I have a tendency to compare myself to other people. I mean honestly, I need to gain some self esteem. Poo. I need a friend...or several.

a bible verse hard to follow
Ephesians 4:31-32
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
I'll try God...I really will.

Rant
Sometimes I wonder if I deserve better...or is this the way it's supposed to be?

Day 1 - exercising, and good eats!
well...not really day 1...
but I'm really self conscious about my body.
My exercising routine has fluctuated these past couple of years...so I called it day 1 because there will be NO MORE EXCUSES! (I hope...)
I plan on running 1 mile EVERY DAY...RAIN OR SHINE...INDOORS OR OUTDOORS...
unless:
I'm injured (or I could always just do sit-ups and push-ups)
I'm sick (which wouldn't really make much sense since I can sweat my sickness out)
I'm dying (which is very unlikely since I'm immortal...har har joke)
On another note...while my friend Esther is in Paris, I figured I'd treat myself to a little bit of Paris also...found this nifty little joint in Rice Village, called "Sweet Paris". They mainly serve crepes and such, but quite satisfying to my undeserving belly.
Continuing on that note...(the food note that is)...The boo brought me to a neat and trendy restaurant called Local Foods, which serve gourmet sandwiches. It's a bit pricey, but serve locally grown, organic veggies and meats! My favorite is the house smoked salmon...it comes with whatever sides you like (typically the sides change depending on what they can find at the farmers market).

Yum yum! Until next time...

My Ninevah
I find it hard to keep up with a study sometimes, usually do to my tendency to procrastinate the daily devotionals that are included. This study has definitely given me a really big reminder that in all things I do, I should always do it for Him.
This leads me to my next thought...being posed with the question "Who/Where is your Ninevah?" I can't deny that I haven't thought about talking to one of those many parents that come up to me during the school year. Then that leads me to the next thought...can I really do this? Can I really change the perception of a person who's grown up believing in their god or gods, into fully believing/trusting in the one true God?
If I could only get the opportunity to plant at least one seed this year. He'll speak through me. I just need the courage to do so.
Praying for courage.

Second Chances
I've recently started attending a women's summer bible study on Jonah, a man with many interruptions in his life...or what Priscilla Shirer likes to call it, Divine Interruption.
The study consists of a daily quiet times to reflect on what was learned during the video session.
I wasn't in one of my best moods during my quiet time, and of course God would want to intervene and teach me a lesson on exactly what I was peeved about.
This week, we've been focusing on second chances, it's evident that God is full of second chances...do we follow in His footsteps?
I wasn't up for giving second chances 30 minutes ago...I've changed my mind.
Thanks God. You always find a way to intervene. :)

love those kids...
after going through pages and pages of pictures for a couple of hours, i've decided to attempt to capture my future children's cuteness and create art just like this person did. i can't guarantee that my kids will be as cute as these 2 little girls are...but i'm sure they'll come close :)
ah what a dream! :)
